Songs and others recordings that are at least a decade old are eligible to ascend to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry, "based on their cultural, historical, or aesthetic importance in the nation's recorded sound heritage," per a release. This year, the registry welcomes 25 new additions, including Abba's Arrival (featuring the ever-popular "Dancing Queen"), the comedy work of Lily Tomlin, and the Notorious BIG's Ready to Die album, reports the Washington Post. "The Library of Congress is proud to preserve the sounds of American history and our diverse culture," Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden notes in the release. The two dozen-plus additions for 2024, listed in chronological order:
