Planet Earth has a new wealthiest woman, and well, she's a former wealthiest woman on the globe. For basically none of you keeping track at home, Walmart heiress Alice Walton has reclaimed her throne from another heiress, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers of L'Oreal riches, reports ABC13. It goes a little something like this:

  • Walton currently claims $89.1 billion in her piggy bank, which was enough to knock Meyers' $88.4 billion out of the top spot in the Forbes list.

  • The two have gone back and forth for years, with Meyers claiming the top spot in 2019, only to be toppled by Walton the following year. Julia Koch of Koch Industries weighed in in 2023, having inherited the family company from her late husband, David, and Walton was sent slumming to No. 3.
  • As Bloomberg reports, three Walton siblings are doing quite well for themselves, with Alice, 74, bringing up the rear. Big brother Jim, 76, clocks in at $102.6 billion, while Rob Walton, 79, is at $100.4 billion. Bloomberg notes that the three had a pretty good year, adding some $30 billion to their net worth. The family overall is worth more than $350 billion.
