A Los Angeles sheriff’s deputy pulled a gun on Sean “Diddy” Combs during a routine traffic stop early yesterday, the New York Daily News reports. The officer “ pulled his firearm, fearing for his safety,” the department explained, when the rap mogul and six of his cohorts advanced toward him after an uncooperative member of Combs’ entourage was detained.

“The situation was deflated as quickly as it began,” concluded the police statement about the 3:15 am incident. There were neither arrests nor injuries as a result of the episode, during which, Combs’ spokeswoman insisted, the officers were “really respectful.” (More Diddy stories.)
