Former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan won’t be back on the field for another season. Strahan has turned down the injury-plagued team’s offer to bring him back from retirement, FOXSports.com reports. The Pro Bowler said the price was right, but he wasn’t willing to put his body through another NFL season. Instead, he’ll stick to the broadcasting booth for his new gig with Fox.

“I have gone back and forth on this because as a player, you’ll always want to play. You’ll never lose that urge to be out there,” he said. “I’ve tried to convince myself and my body to give it one more year, but in the end I just don’t think I could turn it on like I need to again.” (More Michael Strahan stories.)
