Democratic strategist James Carville issued a mea culpa to the first lady Thursday after her lawyers got in touch with him. Carville said during the latest episode of his podcast Thursday that after the previous week's episode, Melania Trump's attorney sent him a letter, the Hill reports. "He took issue with our title of one of those YouTube videos from that episode and a couple of comments I made about the first lady," Carville said. "We took a look at what they complained about, and we took down the video and edited out those comments from the episode. I also take back these statements and apologize." It's not clear exactly what Carville said, since the comments are now missing, the New York Post reports.

However, the offending episode involved Carville discussing the Jeffrey Epstein case, and following Carville's apology, Melania Trump posted a screenshot of the Carville video with the title, "The Epstein Connection - Trump & Melania," crossed out. The Daily Beast similarly apologized and removed a story about the first lady last week, the Post notes. The outlet alleged it was a modeling agent connected to Epstein who introduced Donald Trump to his future wife, a claim the first lady's team denies. Melania Trump wrote in her memoir that she met the future president at a Fashion Week party at New York City's Kit Kat Klub in 1998.
