Actor Josh Hartnett was hospitalized in Canada after he was involved in a collision with a police car—an incident that has left authorities searching for witnesses as the actor quickly returned to work on his latest Netflix project, People reports. Hartnett was hospitalized after the SUV in which he was riding was apparently hit by a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary patrol vehicle in St. John's, Newfoundland, last Thursday. A 59-year-old man was driving the SUV at the time. Hartnett, 47, was evaluated at a local hospital and later released, returning to work soon after, according to his spokesperson.

The police officer involved was also taken to the hospital as a precaution, and USA Today reports that both vehicles suffered "significant damage." Authorities are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with video or information about the incident to come forward. Hartnett is currently in Canada filming a yet-to-be-titled Netflix series, appearing alongside Charlie Heaton and Mackenzie Davis. The show revolves around a fisherman who discovers his hometown is plagued by a mysterious creature. Earlier this year, Hartnett starred in Fight or Flight, for which he was noted for doing many of his own stunts, and is also set to appear in Verity with Anne Hathaway, scheduled for release in May.
