A warrant for Tyrese Gibson's arrest has been issued in Fulton County, Georgia, after the actor's four cane corso dogs allegedly killed a neighbor's pet spaniel, NBC News reports. According to court documents, the incident happened on the evening of Sept. 18, when the cavalier King Charles spaniel, Henry, was found dead in his driveway shortly after being let outside. The police report detailed injuries consistent with an animal attack and cited security footage showing four large dogs running toward Henry's home.

Neighbors told authorities the cane corsos had been seen roaming the neighborhood several times before, and Gibson had previously received warnings about his dogs being loose. Also on Sept. 18, animal control received a call from another neighbor who couldn't reach her car because the dogs were outside her house. When officials arrived, all four dogs were in the yard, and a friend of Gibson's collected them because the actor, who plays Roman Pearce in the Fast and Furious franchise, was reportedly unavailable.

Investigators say Gibson later acknowledged over the phone that his dogs likely killed Henry and admitted they had repeatedly gotten out. When police asked Gibson to surrender the dogs, officials say he refused, requesting more time to decide what to do despite being warned the dogs would be confiscated if he did not turn them over willingly. A search warrant was executed, but officials say neither Gibson nor the dogs were present when police arrived. The 46-year-old posted on social media that he was engaging in "well needed mental health recovery" and would be "gone till November," Fox News reports.

But Gibson later posted a statement on Instagram expressing shock and sadness over the incident, emphasizing his long history as a dog lover and stating his dogs had never been trained to attack. He said he has tried to contact the affected family to express condolences. Gibson's lawyer said two of the adult dogs have since been rehomed, and their puppies placed with new families. But when asked if Gibson is cooperating with authorities, as his lawyer claimed he was, a captain with the local police department told Fox News, "Well, he knows he has a warrant out for him, and he's not turning himself in, so no."
