Tank Johnson's blood alcohol level on the night of his drunk-driving arrest was below the legal limit, tests say. The former Bear was taken into police custody on June 22 after a routine traffic stop. Although the results indicate that Johnson was not in violation of Arizona's .08 limit, he can still be hit with the charge of "impairment to the slightest degree."
The 25-year-old has faced a slew of legal troubles lately, including a two-month jail stint, and culminating in Chicago's decision to release him last week. The Bears, "embarrassed" by the behavior of their 2004 draft-pick, have not weighed in on the blood test. Tank's future in football is uncertain, and his representatives have declined comment.
