(AP Photo/Juan Manuel Serrano) A car bombing blamed on the armed Basque group ETA killed an army officer and wounded 6 people in northern Spain this morning. It was the third such attack in 24 hours in what appeared to be a stepped-up ETA offensive. The explosion happened as the building was being evacuated following a phone call from ETA warning of the blast. The bomb went off shortly after 1am outside an army academy in the northern town of Santoña, following two other explosions in Basque towns yesterday. The attacks may be linked to a recent court ruling to ban two pro-independence Basque political parties for having ETA links. Since 1968 the Basque separatist group has killed more than 825 people in Spain and France. Read These Next A "horrific" incident killed 3 deputies in East Los Angeles.
