The ten day long Taste of Chicago held in Grant Park closed yesterday following a sweltering day in the Windy City. Headline making temperatures did not stop hardy Chicagoans from eating their way through 127,360 ears of corn, 175,000 servings of ice cream and a paltry 75,000 burgers.
Attendance tied the record for the ten day event at 3.6 million. All left over food at the end of the event was collected by the Greater Chicago Food Depository and distribute to the needy. (More obesity stories.)
