Dan Patrick, half of the team that put ESPN's "SportsCenter" on every sports fan's must-see list in its 1990s heyday, will leave the network next month. After weeks of rumors, the dry-witted anchor with the perfect hair shared the news with his radio audience this afternoon from San Francisco, says the Hollywood Reporter.
Patrick's last day on the radio will be August 17; his TV finale hasn't been set. Patrick, 51, said the network asked him to reconsider, and the fact that he wasn't immediately yanked from the air backs up his statement: "If there was any animosity, I would not be doing any radio shows after this."
