Having written more than 20 songs at the end of yet another troubled relationship, Lucinda Williams had doubts when she found love with a former music executive. She worried that her songwriting skills depended on ties to bad boys, but her new disc, Little Honey, proves that fear unfounded, writes Austin Scaggs in Rolling Stone.
Williams found her true love in a Hollywood hair salon. "I was attracted to him right away—that sweet smile, those twinkly eyes, that gold tooth," she says of Tom Overby, who's now her fiancé and manager. "I had to wait until I was in my 50s, but, you know, I'm a late bloomer anyway."
