Television ratings for Major League Baseball's All-Star game this week dipped 10% under last year,  Bloomberg reports. The 8.4% rating is the second lowest for an All-Star game since 1967, even though the total number of viewers increased to 31.4 million from last year's 31.2 million.

Officials of Fox network, which provided coverage of the American League's 5-4 win over the National League, don't consider the figures a tragedy, however. The show won the highest rating of any prime-time network program since the May 23 "American Idol" finale. Tuesday's figures were also the year's best of all professional All-Star games.
