A far cry from the needy, clingy portrait the tabloids have painted, Jennifer Aniston appears at peace with her romantic past ("I've been unbelievably lucky in love"), but irritated when asked about wanting kids, in a Vogue profile by Jonathan Van Meter. The actress waxed philosophic about her upcoming birthday—"I'm not saying I'm 40. I'm 30-10. I don't feel 40"—while giving a tour of her still-under-construction Beverly Hills mansion.
"I'm right where I'm supposed to be," said Aniston, who insisted her much-publicized divorce from Brad Pitt "never was that bad." (In the same interview, Aniston criticized some of Angelina Jolie's moves as "uncool," comments that set off a tab frenzy.) Her frosty relationship with her mother is thawing ("she's humbled with age"), but she bristled when asked about becoming a mom herself: "I've said it so many times: I'm going to have children."
