Two papers have incurred the wrath of J.K. Rowling for reviewing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows after snagging copies ahead of the book's Saturday release date. Rowling took the New York Times and the Baltimore Sun to task for "spoiling Harry's last adventure for millions of readers, particularly children."

Neither review revealed the ending or even significant plot points, though both had soaring praise for the series and Rowling's voice. The Times reviewer, Michiko Kakutani, who lauded the concusion's "convincing ineditability," said she found her copy at a New York City bookstore. A relative of a Sun employee managed to obtain an early copy and gave it to the paper. (More Scholastic Books stories.)
