Caroline Kennedy’s speech has been, um, you know, attacked mercilessly in recent days, but Michael Bloomberg says that’s because Kennedy is unfairly scrutinized more than other, you know, candidates. “Caroline Kennedy isn’t just your average person, so people may be a little more critical,” the New York mayor said. “If there's anybody who understands the pain and suffering of having the press criticize how you speak, it is me.”

“As my oldest daughter once said when she said, 'They're laughing at you,' I said, 'Emily, the only way I know to make it better is to go out there and do it every day,'” Bloomberg said. “Today, you tend when you write about me not to start out, the ill-spoken or malaprop-spoken person.” (More Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg stories.)
