Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner at the Critics' Choice Awards last night, taking home five trophies, including best film and best director (Danny Boyle), MTV News reports. Heath Ledger, meanwhile, continued his posthumous honors, picking up best supporting actor (and a standing ovation) for his turn as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
Sean Penn won best actor for his role in Milk, which also took best ensemble, while best actress went to joint winners Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married) and Meryl Streep (Doubt). Kate Winslet won best supporting actress for her role in The Reader. Brad Pitt and Angelina showed up and got much attention but no awards.
