Amanda Knox tried to mend fences with her ex-boyfriend and fellow accused murderer Raffaele Sollecito during her trial Friday, the Times of London reports. Knox took pains not to glance Sollecito’s way in the courtroom, but during a recess she approached the 24-year-old, asked how he was doing, and complimented him on his haircut. Sollecito blushed, said he hoped for the best, and complained about being transferred to a new prison.

Knox, for her part, seemed far more relaxed than her former lover. Apart from complaining that her cellmates snored loudly, she was upbeat, saying she was sure the trial would “end well” for both of them. In October, Sollecito said “our love affair is over,” after Knox accused him of lying when he said she hadn’t been in his flat the entire night of Meredith Kercher’s murder.
