An Italian shopkeeper has contradicted Amanda Knox's claim that she slept in the day after her roommate was murdered, ABC News reports. Marco Quintavalle testified in Italy yesterday that Knox, 21, dropped by his store early on the morning of Nov. 2, 2007—when Knox says she was at the home of her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 24, who is also on trial for the murder of Meredith Kercher.

Knox’s lawyer called Quintavalle's testimony “absolutely unreliable.” Quintavalle, who recalled being struck by Knox’s “remarkable blue eyes,” said he waited a year to come forward because he didn’t want to get involved. In other testimony, a pal of Sollecito's said she saw Knox at his apartment on the evening Kercher was killed.
