The world's black and indigenous people are paying the price for the blunders of "blue-eyed" bankers, Brazil's president declared yesterday. "This crisis was fostered and boosted by irrational behavior of some people who are white, blue-eyed," Lula da Silva said at a press conference in Brazil with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. 

"I only record what I see in the press," said the brown-eyed da Silva when challenged about his remarks. "I am not acquainted with a single black banker." Brown, in Brazil for trade talks ahead of the G20 summit, said he wouldn't blame any individuals for the financial crisis.
