Entertainment / The Osbournes Please, Osbournes, Go Away By John Johnson, Newser Staff Posted Apr 1, 2009 4:36 PM CDT Copied In this image released by Fox, The Osbournes, from left, Jack, Sharon, Ozzy and Kelly host "Osbournes Reloaded," a six-episode TV variety show in Los Angeles. (AP Photo/FOX, Ray Mickshaw) Ozzy and his brood returned to TV last night with the debut of Osbournes: Reloaded, their version of a crude variety show on Fox. As far as critics are concerned, it can't be canceled quickly enough. Tom Shales, Washington Post: This "revolting debacle" should be "the first TV show ever to be recalled for fear of poisoning the atmosphere." Ken Tucker, Entertainment Weekly: "The network is supposed to air five more Reloadeds. Don't hold your breath. Or maybe, do hold your breath: The stink of this show will last a long time." Robert Lloyd, Los Angeles Times: "In the context of an Ozzy concert, this all might have seemed a radical bit of stagecraft—might have even seemed satirical, at stretch. But as television, it comes off just as wasted energy and bad ideas: Ozzy in a leotard in a Flashdance parody, whose punchline was flatulence..." Eric Goldman, IGNTV: "Maybe this should could have been entertaining, if better thought had been put into it. But no, it's just bad. Really bad." (More The Osbournes stories.) Report an error
