Depleted Colts Tumble, 23-10 Indy D, lacking six Super Bowl starters, susceptible in preseason loss to Dallas By Jesse Andrews Posted Aug 10, 2007 6:21 AM CDT Copied Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy looks up at the scoreboard during a pre-season NFL football game against the Dallas Cowboys in Irving, Texas, Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007. (AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez) (Associated Press) In their preseason opener, Dallas romped over an Indianapolis defense already decimated by injury and free agency, chewing up 17 minutes on two early drives that ended in field goals. Peyton Manning and the first-string offense were given only one drive to show off, mustering a long field goal after Manning overthrew Marvin Harrison in the end zone. Three starters from last year's Colts secondary were missing, including both corners, who departed for lucrative offers elsewhere; the defensive line had two out due to injury, including Anthony "Booger" MacFarland, whose season is already over. The Colts are now 1-10 in their last 11 preseason games, an admittedly meaningless statistic. Read These Next Hall of Famer Dave Parker dies Mark Zuckerberg's 'list' has Silicon Valley buzzing.
