Stephen Morgan, the man suspected in the shooting death of a Wesleyan University student yesterday, may still be in the area, police said today, and could strike again. Based on his personal journal, police believe Morgan is targeting the Connecticut campus and its Jewish community, the Hartford Courant reports. They’ve asked a nearby synagogue to close, and advised students to stay inside.
Morgan is not a Wesleyan student, but it appears he did know the victim, Johanna Justin-Jinich. Both attended a New York University summer program, and both lived in student housing. Toward the end of that program, Justin-Jinich filed a harassment claim against Morgan, but declined to pursue the case. (More Wesleyan stories.)
