Mets ace Pedro Martinez posted a second solid rehab start in the Gulf Coast League yesterday, throwing 60 pitches and three perfect innings. Martinez, who's recovering from a torn tendon in his calf, says he's anxious to get back into the rotation. "It's going to take a while," admitted the nine-time Cy Young winner.

The Mets expect to give him at least one more minor-league warm-up. "I need to pitch in the big leagues," said Martinez, 35. "I can't tell you how good I am until I get a big-league hitter out." Matinez will likely pitch with St. Lucie in Florida next Monday. (More Pedro Martinez stories.)
