An autopsy was performed today on a boy found buried in a public playground in Albuquerque, NM, but he remains unidentified, KOB.com reports. About 50 investigators are canvassing the area around Alvarado Park to identify the 3- to 5-year-old or a suspect. A mother taking her own kids to the park yesterday noticed a shoe poking out of the sand and alerted police.

"No one has stepped forward as parent, guardian or caretaker or any other relationship with this child," said a police spokesman, the AP reports. The boy, whose ethnicity could not be identified due to sand discoloration, likely died over the past 48 hours.
