Killing Dolla Was Self Defense: Suspect

The man accused of killing rapper Dolla claims the shooting was self defense, reports the Los Angeles Times. Police arrested Aubrey Louis Berry, 23, for shooting the rapper in the head at an Los Angeles shopping center Monday. The suspect's attorney said Dolla and friends had recently attacked Berry outside an Atlanta strip club, and that he believed Dolla was reaching for a gun after another confrontation In LA.

Berry, a promoter, said he met Dolla in LA by accident. The two had a verbal confrontation in a restaurant restroom before the rapper and two of his crew followed Berry to the parking lot, where the shooting occurred. Police recovered only one gun, which belonged to Berry, officials said.
