The Brewers’ new shaved heads didn’t stop St. Louis from defeating them 8-0 last night behind stellar performances by starter Adam Wainwright and catcher Yadier Molina. The normally light-hitting Molina belted two homers, while Wainwright gave up only two hits and notched a season-high eight strikeouts, AP reports.

The Cards are now just 2.5 back in the National League Central. Before the game, several Brewers shaved their heads to raise morale after a depressing 5-13 run that has placed Milwaukee just half a game ahead of the Cubs for the division lead. Yesterday's game looked close until then ninth when reliever Derek Turnbow gave up five runs. (More Milwaukee Brewers stories.)
