Rob Riggle is really funny as a fake-news correspondent on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He’s also such a good Marine Corps reservist that he was just recommended for promotion to lieutenant colonel, NPR reports. "I know that being in the Marines has definitely served my comedy," Riggle says. "It's a character study for me."

Riggle now works as a Marines public affairs officer in Los Angeles, in addition to his Daily Show gig, but he’s also served in Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Liberia. He even got a chance to combine his passions in 2007, when he journeyed to Iraq and interviewed service members for a Daily Show series. We “were the only slice of America that they got to see the whole time they were over there," Riggle says.
