Rock musician Jay Bennett, a former member of Wilco, died early yesterday in his sleep, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. An autopsy for the 45-year-old is pending. Elsewhere:

  • NFL player Jeremy Shockey was rushed to the hospital yesterday after being found unconscious while partying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. A rep for the New Orleans Saints tells TMZ the tight end was simply dehydrated.

  • Just because Gordon Ramsay is a famous chef doesn’t mean his restaurants are spic and span. His New York restaurant was slapped with 24 violation points by the city’s health department earlier this month, the Mirror reports.
  • Also from the Mirror: Amy Winehouse has been dropped from a tribute album for Quincy Jones after failing to produce anything in nearly a year.
  • Ladies’ man Colin Farrell is finally walking down the aisle—as the best man for his gay brother, who is marrying his partner this summer, the Daily Mail adds.
