She was muzzled by a court order during her husband’s trial, but now that Phil Spector has been convicted of murder, Rachelle Spector is free to talk to the media. The 28-year-old tells the Los Angeles Times she’s no trophy wife—“I don't take anything from my husband, and I never have”—and that she “wants it known” that “they treat people worse than animals” in the prison where her 69-year-old husband is incarcerated.

“He's locked in a 5-by-9 cell, 23½ hours a day,” she says. The pair met at a Los Angeles restaurant and were married while he was under indictment; Rachelle was known for her tough attitude during her husband’s trial. "That man couldn't hurt a fly," she said. (More Phil Spector stories.)
