The first round of the US Open lasted just three hours today before rain made Bethpage Black unplayable, Golf.com reports. Play was suspended until 7:30am tomorrow, though more wet weather is forecast for Long Island. Four players shared the lead at 1 under par, but none had played more than 11 holes.

“I’ve played rounds at Pebble Beach exactly like this, colder than this,” said Jeff Brehaut, one of the leaders. Defending champ Tiger Woods is 1 over through six holes, while 78 players—half the field—haven’t completed a hole. Assuming no further delays, the second round won’t likely finish until Saturday, and more rain could push the cut to Sunday. (More golf stories.)
