A Hundred Celebs, One Hotel Room

During a four-month period in 2006 and 2007, 100 celebrities checked into Room 23 of Beverly Hills’ Peninsula Hotel. The result is photographer Deborah Anderson’s Room 23, a coffee-table book to raise money for a human-rights charity. “We wanted to portray anything and everything, from Minnie Driver reading a script, topless, in bed, to Lindsay Lohan in her bra and underwear,” Anderson tells the Telegraph.

Anderson had help from Diana Jenkins, wife of a top British banker, and her enormous black book. “She created an environment in that hotel room that allowed people to feel at home,” says Anderson. But when it came time to do business, it was just the photog and her subject: “When George Clooney arrived he said to me, ‘Where’s your team?’ I said, ‘You’re my team.’” (More celebrity stories.)
