Susan Roesgen, the CNN correspondent who gained infamy for her rant at April’s tax day tea parties, has been shown the door, TVNewser reports. Roesgen was criticized for saying, on air, that the Chicago tea party she was covering was “anti-CNN since this is highly promoted by the right-wing, conservative network Fox.” Roesgen took a break for a few weeks after the eruption.
She has since covered Drew Peterson’s arrest and Michael Jackson’s death, but her contract will not be renewed. On whether the decision had anything to do with April’s controversy, a CNN spokesperson says, “I can’t comment on personal matters.” Roesgen joined the network in 2005. (More Susan Roesgen stories.)
