After formally entering his guilty plea, Michael Vick held a press conference today and asked the public for forgiveness for his mistakes. "I apologize to all the kids out there for my immature acts," said the disgraced NFL star. Vick mentioned dogfighting only once, calling it "a terrible thing," but did say that his experiences allowed him to find Jesus.
"I will redeem myself," said Vick, who took no questions. By making a deal to plead guilty to one felony count, he waived his right to appeal, the Journal-Constitution reports. Prosecutors recommended a 12-18-month prison term, but the judge warned that he could impose the maximum, 5 years. "You'll have to live with whatever decision I make," he said.
