Ryan Howard's 10th-inning walk-off homer handed Philadelphia a 4-2 win over the Mets last night, lifting the Phillies to within four games of New York in the National League East. Though a two-run shot from Carlos Delgado gave the Mets an early lead, clutch hits from Jimmy Rollins and Aaron Rowand set the stage for Howard's extra-inning fireworks.

All-Star Tom Glavine pitched shutout baseball through seven innings before New York's bullpen faltered, while Philly starter Adam Eaton, whose 6.23 ERA is the worst among big-league starters, gave up only five hits in his no-decision outing. The rival teams square off in the second of four crucial games today in Philadelphia. (More Ryan Howard stories.)
