Back in the Groove, Bill Comes 'Full Circle'

When President Clinton was still wet behind the ears, North Korea decided to ramp up its nuclear program—and Jimmy Carter headed over to sort things out. Now, things have come “full circle,” as Clinton takes on the role of diplomatic ex-president, note John Harris and Mike Allen in Politico. In so doing, Clinton has proved he “still has the juice,” says a Democratic commentator.

Up until now, Harris and Allen write, Clinton “was an elder statesman who seemed without a clear identity or useful role in Barack Obama’s presidency.” Now, he’s hoping for more missions from the administration, says an insider. “I hope this is a sign of things to come, given all the fires that this country faces. People trust him, and he has an important role to play,” adds commentator Donna Brazile.
