If urinating and burping toys aren’t enough, a Spanish doll provides simulated breastfeeding, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Bebé Glotón, which translates to Baby Glutton, comes with a halter top for the doll's owner, and it's equipped with a pair of flowers that take on the role of nipples. The wearer holds the doll to the flowers, and nursing sounds ensue. It’s “meant to impress upon kids that nursing is natural,” writes Amy Griff.
“Parents who are seriously disgruntled by the toy industry's ‘pro-bottle stance’ might see this new doll as a boon, but others might find it entirely unnecessary,” Griff notes. The Internet is buzzing: “I'd like to think that there's a less creepy way to instill the notion of breastfeeding in the minds of children,” writes one. Another writer calls it “refreshing to see a doll that doesn't come with bottles and that shows breasts and nipples in a non-sexual situation.”
