Vick Vows He 'Won't Disappoint'

Michael Vick says he “won’t disappoint” as a player for of the Eagles, the Philadelphia Daily News reports. “I’m glad to have an opportunity at a second chance,” said the convicted felon and newly signed quarterback. He said at a press conference today he had “ done some terrible things, made a horrible mistake,” but “now I want to be part of the solution and not the problem,” the AP reports.

Discussing his dogfighting conviction, Vick said, “we all used the excuse that it was part of our culture. I don’t think that is an excuse,” adding, “Just when I was trying to turn the corner, it was too late.” He's learned “playing in the NFL is a privilege and not a right,” he said. “I want to do whatever is necessary and be the best ambassador to the NFL and in the community."
