Princes William and Harry held a memorial service today for their mother on the 10th anniversary of her death, with Harry leading off the honors, calling Diana "quite simply the best mother in the world"  and recalling the pain of her sudden death. The bishop of London urged people to stop rehashing conspiracy theories about the crash that killed the princess and her boyfriend, Dodi al Fayed.

Guests included PMs Brown, Blair, and Major; Sir Elton John; and reps from Diana's charities. Mohamed al Fayed was not invited, and prospective queen Camilla Parker Bowles decided not to come, saying her presence would be distracting. The service was  held at Guard's Chapel near Buckingham Palace, which was rebuilt in the 60s after being nearly destroyed during WWII. (More Princess Diana stories.)
