Opposition parties are preparing to hold a confidence vote in the wake of the freeing of Libyan terrorist Abdul Baset Ali al-Megrahi. The move has been blasted by the US and many in Britain amid reports that the release was part of a deal for favorable oil and gas contracts from Libya. The ruling Scottish National Party's "credibility at home and abroad is in tatters. Scotland’s must not be allowed to follow with it," said the leader of the Liberal Democrats. Al-Megrahi, convicted of the bombing of Pan Flight 103 that killed 270 people, returned last week to a hero's welcome in Libya.
