The NEA's spokesman has resigned, and the Huffington Post chalks it up as another victory for Glenn Beck. The NEA official, Yosi Sergant, raised the Fox host's ire by participating in an August conference call in which the group sought artists to participate in a national program called United We Serve. Beck likened the conference call to a Nazi propaganda campaign, accusing the Obama administration of trying to get artists to push the White House agenda.
"Now Sergant has been tossed overboard, making him Beck's second victim in his campaign to rid the administration of perceived radicals" after Van Jones, writes Ryan Grim. An NEA statement says Sergant has been reassigned from his post as communications director but still works for the agency. It did not specify the reason but said the August call "was not a means to promote any legislative agenda, and any suggestions to that end are simply false," reports the Washington Times.
