President Obama is “a weakened man,” says Osama bin Laden in a new audiotape titled “A statement to the American people," citing his retention of Defense Secretary Robert Gates and other Bush officials. "The bitter truth is that the neoconservatives continue to cast their heavy shadows upon you." Bin Laden also blames the 9/11 attacks on US support of Israel, among “other injustices,” and promises a continuing “war of attrition” as long as the US has troops in the Middle East.

“If you think about your situation well, you will know that the White House is occupied by pressure groups,” he says in blaming pro-Israeli lobbyists for the Iraq and Afghan wars. “The time has come for you to liberate yourselves from fear and the ideological terrorism of neo-conservatives and the Israeli lobby.”
