Raymond Clark, the lab tech "person of interest" who was picked up by police last night in connection with Yale grad student Annie Le’s murder, was released this morning after DNA samples were taken, CNN reports. Clark shares his apartment with the girlfriend he is engaged to marry in December 2011, the Hartford Courant reports. Fiancee Jennifer Hromadka works in the same lab as Clark, and described him on their wedding blog as "a bit naive, but he is a good guy," adds the New Haven Independent.
Clark is not officially a suspect, and police say they haven’t ruled out other suspects. As the investigation continues, a source says Le was asphyxiated; the official cause of death is still pending. Authorities are trying to determine if Le was sexually assaulted; she was found fully clothed in the outfit she was seen wearing in video of her entering the building. The source says it looks like she was killed in the basement, then moved to the 2-foot crawl space in the lab she had been working in. (More Annie Le stories.)
