Glenn Beck Boils a Frog * * No, Not Really

... but he did torture a metaphor

Did Glenn Beck boil a widdle bitty frog on national television? It sure looked that way for a second, especially in a video bouncing around the blogosphere today. After explaining the adage that a frog will jump out if you throw it into boiling water, the Fox host appears to take a small jumping frog and toss it into a not-so-proverbial pot of boiling water. Spoiler alert: The frog is rubber.

Apparently this was supposed to be a metaphor for—something. John McCain was involved for some reason, as was Theodore Roosevelt. Anyway, Beck didn’t actually stew Kermit. His play-by-play of the stunt ends: “Forget about the Republicans, because most of them are fake. Forget about the Democrats, because most of them are fake. And forget about the frog, because it was fake!” (More Glenn Beck stories.)
