A Newsmax columnist—the conservative mag says he's a mere “unpaid blogger”—suggests that a military coup against the Obama administration is “gaining possibility.” “Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration,” writes John Perry in a column that got pulled from the Newsmax website after complaints. “Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars.”

In a statement to Talking Points Memo, the magazine says it "strongly believes in the principles of Constitutional government and would never advocate or insinuate any suggestion of an activity that would undermine our democracy or democratic institutions.” The piece got yanked "to ensure that this article was not misinterpreted.” (More John L. Perry stories.)
