A strip club’s seemingly obvious reference to the South African runner revealed to be a hermaphrodite is, predictably, drawing complaints—though the club’s owner says his billboard proclaiming “No need for gender testing!” underneath a busty model isn’t a stab at Caster Semenya. Lolly Jackson says the latest promotional blitz for Teazers (“the teaze without the sleaze”) is in fact calling out the athletics official who knew about Semenya’s condition.

Jackson wasn’t done there, however. “Maybe the woman who complained should lose a bit of weight and her husband will then stop looking at the Teazers billboard, maybe she is fat and ugly. I don’t give a shit about her moral issues,” he tells the Star, complaining that his establishment is being targeted after previous such envelope-pushing stunts. A rep for South Africa’s ad watchdog—“idiots,” per Jackson—says the agency is looking into the matter.
