Jon Gosselin defended his decision to fight Jon and Kate Plus 8 last night on CNN's Larry King Live, saying it’s not healthy for his kids because “we're going through a divorce right now, and I don't think it should be televised.” Sure, they’ve been on the show for four years already, but “they’re 5 and 8 now; let them experience a normal childhood.”

Kate had earlier slammed Jon in a statement, saying he had a change of heart only when producers decided to give him a lesser role. He “never expressed any concerns to me about our children being involved in the show and, in fact, is on the record as saying he believes the show benefits our children and was taping on Friday with the kids.” When King brought this up, Jon said he meant it at the time, but “I can make mistakes as well.” (More Jon Gosselin stories.)
