Beck Weeps for 'Simpler America'

Glenn Beck had a weepy "Kodak moment" when he shared old commercials with viewers yesterday and recalled a "simpler" America when "we used to be united." One of the oldie ads he played—a day after fellow right-wing commentator Rush Limbaugh was bounced from a Rams buyers' group amid charges of racism—featured black football star Joe Green accepting a Coke from a young boy.

"You're tired. I'm tired, too," says a choked-up Beck. "Do you remember that simpler time in America? We used to be united on some basic things. If a politician told you right now that he could make that happen again, that we could go back to those simpler times when people were together, you'd do it in a heartbeat, wouldn't you?"
