What  Dick Cheney calls dithering, "President Obama calls his solemn responsibility to the men and women in uniform and to the American public," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said yesterday, rejecting Cheney's charge that the Obama adminstration is taking too long to decide its Afghanistan strategy. "I think we've all seen what happens when somebody doesn't take that responsibility seriously," he added.

Gibbs said Cheney's comment that "signals of indecision hurt our allies and embolden our adversaries" was curious. "I think it's pretty safe to say that the vice president was for 7 years not focused on Afghanistan," Gibbs said. Other Democrats chimed in against Cheney. "He’s forgotten whose administration made matters worse in Afghanistan by their neglect," said Nancy Pelosi.
