(Newser) – This could get messier than the Los Angeles Dodgers’ playoff elimination against Philadelphia: Jamie McCourt, wife of Los Angeles owner Frank McCourt filed for divorce today, charging that they are in fact co-owners, and that Frank had no right to fire her last week as the team’s chief executive. Court papers also describe “a systematic campaign designed to intimidate me and drive me out of the Dodgers franchise.”

The couple separated officially over the summer, the Times reports, just before their 30th anniversary. Jamie McCourt’s lawyers estimate the couple’s net worth at $1.2 billion, and are asking for nearly $321,000 in support if she’s given her job back—and nearly $488,000 if she’s not. Frank McCourt’s lawyers had no immediate comment.
